Four dogs from a recent Gary dog fighting case are finally out of animal control and settling into DASH foster homes.

For the first time in their lives, they have a soft place to sleep, full meals, and people showing them kindness. They finally have the opportunity to decompress and begin learning what it means to simply be dogs.

But their journey is far from over.

When foster homes stepped forward, we made the decision to take these four dogs. We didn't have funding waiting for them, but we knew we couldn't let that stand in the way of giving them a second chance.

Now we're asking our community to help us keep that commitment.

These dogs need far more than routine veterinary care. They need vaccines, deworming, preventatives, microchips, spay/neuter surgeries, diagnostic testing, and continued medical treatment. Just as importantly, they need time.

Time to heal.

Time to learn that people can be trusted.

Time to discover that a leash isn't something to fear, that toys are meant to be played with, and that they can finally rest without living in survival mode.

Recovery doesn't happen in a few days. It takes weeks and months of medical care, rehabilitation, and dedicated foster families helping these dogs build confidence and learn how to simply be dogs.

Our goal is to raise $3,000 to provide the medical care, food, supplies, and rehabilitation these four dogs need as they begin this new chapter.
