This is the North Region page for The Give Classic: The Battle for the Bag at Magic City.

From October 1 through October 28, all 14 of Alabama's HBCUs are split by region and competing to raise the most for The Alabama Collective. The winning region is announced live on October 29 at the HBCU Business Pitch Competition at the Magic City Classic in Birmingham.

Every gift on this page counts toward the North Region:

Alabama A&M University, Oakwood University, J.F. Drake State Community and Technical College, Gadsden State Community College, Talladega College, Miles College and Lawson State Community College..

Anyone can give. Alumni, students, families, faculty, Greek organizations, local businesses and anyone who believes Alabama's HBCU founders deserve a real shot. You do not have to be connected to one of these schools to pick a side.

What's on the line - The region that raises the most wins more than bragging rights. Every pitch competitor from the winning region's schools starts Round 1 of the competition with 5 bonus points added to their score. On a day when one point decides who advances to the Finale, your gift could be what puts an HBCU founder on that stage.

Where your gift goes - The Alabama Collective expands tech, innovation and entrepreneurship programs across Alabama with a focus on the state's HBCUs. Your gift funds pitch competitions with real prize money, free tech training and certifications, Innovation Power Hours on campus, mentorship, and access to rooms these students would not otherwise get into.

How it works - Give any amount on this page, then share it. The region with the highest total when giving closes on October 28 at 11:59 PM CT wins. If the totals tie, the region with the most individual donors takes it. Small gifts matter here: ten people giving 10 dollars each does more than one person giving 100.
