For many people, environmental justice work sounds inspiring from the outside — protecting rivers, defending sacred places, fighting pipelines, challenging polluters, preserving culture, and advocating for future generations. But the reality is that this work can also be exhausting.

At 7 Directions of Service, we spend countless hours organizing communities, attending hearings, responding to environmental threats, supporting families, teaching youth, protecting waterways, and standing alongside Indigenous and frontline communities facing powerful industries and systems. Much of this work is grassroots and community-funded. It takes emotional energy, time, travel, supplies, legal support, educational programming, and constant organizing.

And while we take this work seriously, we also know something equally important: our communities need moments of joy, laughter, and connection too.

Burnout is real in movement work. Many organizers and community members are carrying heavy stress while balancing work, family, advocacy, and the everyday challenges of life. Indigenous teachings remind us that healing, gathering, and joy are also forms of resistance and community care.

That’s why we wanted to create something simple, lighthearted, and accessible — a community guessing game that anyone can participate in throughout the month of June. It gives people a chance to stop by Sacred Village Coffee, share a moment together, and support meaningful work while having a little fun.

Every donation helps sustain the work of 7 Directions of Service, including:
• Indigenous-led environmental justice advocacy
• Youth and cultural education programs
• Community organizing and mutual aid
• Traditional ecological knowledge and land-based learning
• Cultural revitalization and language preservation
• Sacred site and water protection efforts
