The Light You Carry was created from one simple belief: a person’s light doesn’t disappear. It continues through the people they touched, the kindness they shared, and the lives changed because they were here.

Inspired by the life and legacy of Victoria Strauss, this beautifully illustrated children’s book was created to bring comfort, hope, and encouragement to children navigating difficult days. Through its pages, children are reminded that being brave doesn’t mean they aren’t scared, that hard days are allowed to feel hard, and that even in the darkest moments, there is still light to be found.

Victoria had a remarkable way of making people feel loved, important, and seen. After losing her at just 23 years old, her family created the Victoria Strauss Foundation to ensure that the light she brought into the world would continue to travel.

This book is one more way we are carrying it forward.

Our hope is that each child who reads The Light You Carry feels a little less alone and is reminded of three things:

You are loved.
You matter.
You are stronger than you know.

And maybe one day, without even realizing it, they’ll share a little of that light with someone else.
