By collecting small donations today and investing them wisely, we aim to create a fund that will fruit in a century. Just as fungi form sclerotia to survive hard times and germinate later, we are preparing for a future we will never see.

Last year we raised $15,000! At a 7% annual interest, the sclerotium will release in 2125 with an estimated $~13 million for mycology research. However, we do not want to stop now and give into complacency. We collected donations from >80 donors. Our goal is to have all who have the capacity in the mycological community contribute $5 or more, the price of a fancy coffee. If we all establish this as a habit, mycologists of the future will not need to scrounge for funding.

Initial goal: Raise $5,000 this year. After 100 years of accruing interest, this will fund ~$4.3 million dollars of research in 2126.
