Behind every young person who steps onto our court is a coach who chose to show up.

Not just to run drills. But to learn names. To notice when something is off. To pull a kid aside and say I see you, I believe in you, and I'm not going anywhere.

At The Village League, our coaches are not afterthoughts. They are the program. Every structured session, every SEL moment, every breakthrough on and off the court flows directly through the people we put in front of our young people. Which means who we hire, how we train them, and whether we can pay them what they deserve matters more than almost anything else we do.

The Staff & Coaches Fund makes it possible to bring on 6-12 dedicated coaches and program staff for our Summer 2026 season covering six weeks of programming for up to 100 young people across New York City. It funds the assistant tennis coach who runs stations with patience and precision. The SEL facilitator who holds space for the hard conversations. The program manager who makes sure every moving piece lands exactly where it should.

These are not volunteer roles filled out of goodwill. They are professional positions held by people who are building careers in youth development and they deserve to be compensated accordingly.
