Join us for an evening of stories!

South End Stories celebrates the Storytellers Club at James Baldwin Elementary School. Enjoy dinner on us, watch films made by past and present students, and join a panel discussion on the power of telling stories.

Since 2023, we have offered an arts-based program for students in grades 2-5 that teaches the fundamentals of filmmaking. Students learn to use equipment, capture footage, and edit their own work while developing their creative voice through visual storytelling. In a supportive, community-centered environment, they explore imagination, collaboration, and self-expression as they create original films and build foundational media arts skills.

Help us sustain the Storytellers Club for another school year. Your gift helps continue to provide culturally sustaining, healing-centered arts education to students at James Baldwin Elementary School. When students feel seen, they thrive. When their stories are heard, they lead.

No one will be turned away at the door, this is a free event and fundraiser. Suggested donations below show the possible impact of your contribution:
$25 – Sponsors art supplies for one student
$60 - Supports one hour of direct teaching, mentorship, and collaboration
$100 – Supports a youth showcase of original films and/or performances
$250 – Funds a week of in-class arts education with a professional Teaching Artist

Every dollar helps us build spaces where students are safe to be fully themselves and tell the stories they want to tell!

South End stories is a trauma-conscious and antiracist arts education nonprofit organization serving students and educators throughout King County, Washington. We encourage critical thought to stimulate artistic expression and exploration of identity. Through our work, we aim to guide students towards a collaborative style of learning, giving them tools to share their stories through multiple means of expression.
