The Sun Bowl Renovation

The Sun Bowl has been a central shared gathering space for the Valley Forge Mountain community and is a dedicated area for neighborhood events and recreation. Since its inception, the Sun Bowl has brought together families, children, and neighbors across generations, strengthening our community identity, pride, and connections. It is a space maintained by neighbors, for neighbors! This unique space also adds so much to our individual property values.

Now, some details on the need to fundraise for the Sun Bowl:

1. The timber retaining wall behind the play equipment has reached its end of life and is beyond repair in kind and has become a major safety hazard for playing children.

2. The slope behind the pavilion needs professional remediation and vegetative stabilization beyond what the community volunteers can address.

3. The basketball court surface needs to be resurfaced due to damage from tree roots and improper drainage.

Note that without intervention, key Sun Bowl amenities may become unsafe or unusable.
