The Waiting has been chosen as one of the three musicals to be presented this year at the ASCAP Musical Theatre Workshop in Los Angeles!

The Musical Theatre Workshop is a chance of a lifetime opportunity for aspiring musical theatre creators to workshop their new musicals. We will be sharing the first 45 minutes of The Waiting and we will receive feedback on the show from a panel of composers, producers, and librettists. Past panelists have included Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin, Godspell), Karey Kirkpatrick (Something Rotten!), and Kevin Bannerman (The Lion King, Pocahontas, Hunchback of Notre Dame).

In 2023, we attended the ASCAP Musical Theatre Workshop, traveling across the country and seeing the incredible new work being presented. We sat in the audience and thought, “One day we could be up there showing our musical.” Now, that day is here.

Our performance in LA will be on May 12, giving us just one month to put together a high-caliber performance of the show with incredible actors. To ensure the quality of the work, bringing the right actors to LA to showcase the show is imperative. We want to bring three actors with us who have worked on the show before – this is not only a massive opportunity for us to show our work, but an opportunity for these actors who have collaborated in building the show to be seen by hundreds of industry professionals and some of our industry’s most celebrated writers.

We are fundraising $7,000 to support this massive endeavor. Every dollar raised will go toward sponsoring actor stipends, travel, and housing, as well as rehearsal and development costs such as sheet music production.
