During these unprecedented times, we are not exempt from the effects of the COVID-19 crisis. With the temporary closing of businesses, we had an unexpected and significant drop in advertising revenue. While subscriptions and single-copy sales are holding strong, we are primarily funded by our advertisers.

The sudden loss of that revenue forced us to make difficult decisions including suspending the publishing of several special sections and laying off employees. To continue the important work that The Durango Herald does, we ask for your support through a donation. We are calling on you to help save journalism by starting locally, with your hometown paper.

Contributions to this fund will help pay for news resources to sustain our reporting of the impact COVID-19 is having on our local communities, businesses, students, healthcare facilities and more as it unfolds.
