Happy Crew’s Mission

At The Happy Crew, our mission is to destigmatize mental health issues by creating a supportive, inclusive community where everyone knows they matter and belong. Through our efforts, we aim to teach everyone how to navigate life in a mentally healthy way, ensuring that each person feels valued and understood.

Why Happy Crew Exists

Colorado faces a mental health crisis among its youth, ranking 46th in the prevalence of depressive episodes and 41st in access to treatment. In 2014-2015, Douglas County Colorado, our county, experienced a tragic spike in teen suicides, with eight teenagers lost in one school year. Adolescence is a crucial time for mental health, setting the stage for future well-being. Alarming statistics show that 26% of teens feel persistently hopeless, 11% seriously consider suicide, and 7.2% have attempted it. Stress, trauma, bullying, and academic pressures are major contributors to this crisis.

Your donation can transform lives. By contributing to The Happy Crew, you are directly supporting a community where teens can find the help and acceptance they need. Every dollar helps us expand our reach, develop new programs, and create safe spaces like the Kākou Coffee House.

Looking Ahead

In 2023, The Happy Crew served 171 students. Space limitations at our current location have hindered our ability to expand. With the upcoming Kākou Coffee House, we aim to reach 500 students by the end of Year 2 and 1,000 by the end of Year 3, through holding Happy Crew meetings three nights a week and welcoming high school students from all area schools. significantly increasing our impact.
