The Last Ecstatic Days premiered at the Santa Fe International Film Festival to sold-out audiences and rave reviews. The Boston Globe called it a “…courageous end-of-life chronicle, which overflows with compassion and shows us how to live mindfully while embracing curiosity about what lies beyond.”

The film has screened at Meow Wolf (Santa Fe), the Tibet House (NYC), the Congressional Cemetery (D.C.), the Secretary of Culture (Mexico City), the Red Latinoamericana de Acompañamiento en la Muerte y el Duelo (Latin America), the Sun Valley Wellness Institute (ID), the Psychedelic Assembly (NYC), the LEAF Festival (AVL), the Grief & Death Festival (Istanbul), the Oy Vey Festival (Amsterdam), the Threshold Collective (PA), and the Asheville Ideasfest (AVL).

Imagine a world where we don’t fear dying, where death is seen as relational and connective experience. What was once a contemplative and spiritual event is now often an expensive and isolating medical one. Conversations about mortality & dying typically happen only in times of acute need, when emotions are heightened and time is unfortunately limited.

The Community Deathcare Network (CDN) seeks to change this by consolidating best in class resources and providing comprehensive support for each part of the end-of-life process, we aim to empower individuals, families and practitioners to plan and experience a death that reflects their values and the way they lived. Through education, community engagement, content, research, experiences, and advocacy, CDN is a first-of-its-kind end-of-life literacy and community platform. We provide crucial support, breaking the cycle of late-stage preparations, stigma, and expensive medical trauma, to ensure people have a death deserving of dignity, meaning and intention. We seek to bridge modern western medical care and the ceremonial, communal, ritualistic traditions of our ancestors.
