The Queer Trans Project

Gender-Affirming Care Is Life-Saving Care

Mission

The Queer Trans Project is a Black-led, Trans-led nonprofit dedicated to making gender-affirming care free, accessible, and rooted in community. Founded in 2020 out of a bedroom closet in Jacksonville, Florida, we have grown into a national resource for trans and nonbinary people who are often denied access to affirming care because of systemic barriers, cost, or location. Our mission is to provide free, life-saving gender-affirming resources and create pathways for trans people to thrive. We do this through two core programs: Build-A-Queer Kits Fully customizable kits packed with gender-affirming items such as binders, packers, gaffs, breast forms, Gender Grip tape, pride merchandise, stickers, and more. Each kit is shipped free of charge to trans and nonbinary individuals across the United States. Free Flights for Gender-Affirming Healthcare We remove the barrier of geography by providing free flights for those seeking medical procedures and appointments related to gender-affirming care. This program ensures that distance and cost are never reasons someone can’t access the healthcare they deserve.
