When bills pile up, therapy feels like a luxury. But for many, it’s a lifeline they simply can’t afford.

The truth is heartbreaking:

Only 15.3% of Black adults with a mental health condition received treatment in the past year.
65% of Black youth report traumatic experiences, more than double their peers.
PTSD affects 8.7% of African Americans, compared to 7.4% of white Americans.
Nearly 10% of Black individuals in the U.S. don’t have health insurance.

Behind every number is a story. A mother fighting anxiety while juggling bills, a college student navigating trauma alone, a father trying to stay strong for his family while silently battling depression.

Centuries of systemic racism, discrimination, and mistrust have created deep wounds. Today’s political and social climate, including ICE raids, police brutality, and economic inequality, only pours salt into these wounds. The result? An epidemic of pain, untreated and unseen.

That’s why we created The Therapy Project — a movement to make therapy affordable and accessible for those who need it most. With sessions starting at $35, individuals, couples, and families can receive professional counseling without being burdened by insurance paperwork or overwhelming costs.

Every $75 you give sponsors a full session for someone who otherwise couldn’t afford care. One session can offer more than coping strategies. It offers hope, relief, and a path toward healing.
