Sisters Affirming Sisterhood (SAS) Project is a trans-led, Philadelphia-based nonprofit that transforms surplus clothing into gender-affirming care, paid creative work, and community infrastructure. Since 2022 we’ve redistributed nearly 10,000 items, served roughly 1,000 people, and produced 40+ pop-ups, tailoring labs, and public programs — all delivered with zero barriers and trauma-informed care.

Now, we’re asking for your help to take our impact even further.

We’re raising $50,000 to support our upcoming season of programs, including pop-ups, mutual aid drives, educational panels, and our signature fashion initiatives that spotlight BIPOC, trans, and non-binary talent. Every dollar helps us cover operational costs, pay our creatives, provide resources to community members, and make sure no one is left behind.

Our work is ongoing: every month we collect and curate donations, run pop-up closets and tailoring days, pay stipends to trans and disabled stylists, teach repair and upcycling workshops, and pilot permanent closet sites and mobile routes that reach people where they live. These activities require steady operating support, not one-time gifts.
