TIMEP's Ten Year Anniversary Gala
Thursday at 6:30 PM EST
Join us for an evening filled with powerful reflections from advocates, captivating musical performances, delicious food and drink, and a space for attendees to come together in solidarity and exchange. We'll be reflecting on and celebrating TIMEP’s impact over the last decade and we hope you’ll be a part of this special night to support the institute, its programs, and its community in the years to come.
Ten years ago, the Tahrir Institute for Middle East Policy (TIMEP) was born out of the electric energy of protesters and advocates who had taken to the streets across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region two years prior. Since its founding, TIMEP has continued to serve as a home for the changemakers working day and night to deliver on alternate visions for the future of the MENA region.
On February 16, we invite you to join us as we celebrate our ten year anniversary and the remarkable advocates who make up our community. For those able to travel to Washington, DC, we will be hosting an in-person gala. For those unable to join us, we promise engaging virtual programming and exciting announcements in the weeks to come. In the meantime, we hope you'll consider making a gift to TIMEP.
Today, twelve years since the Arab Uprisings, we stand at a critical juncture. Pressing economic crisis abounds; authoritarianism in the region and globally has resurged; space for civil society and mobilization has narrowed; impunity for rights abuses and corruption has become normalized; and serious security and governance challenges remain unaddressed.
Today’s MENA region is, in many ways, even more complex than the one in which TIMEP was born, making our work more critical than ever.
Join us as we reflect on the importance of investing in creative, innovative talent in and from the region; in the transformative power of ordinary people; and in a strong, inclusive community that spans the globe, connected by a shared dedication to realizing alternate visions for the region’s future. Together, we have a powerful role to play.
