Miss the fun of the scholastic book fair? Come join us October 11th and 12th for an All Ages Book Fair presented by Team Kitten. Support local felines while grabbing a new book or two! From romance to thriller and children's books, we'll have something for everyone. You can take a load off and read a book to a kitten (or two) in the kitten reading area. Just nothing too scary, our kittens aren't very brave.

Stay tuned for announcements of local authors stopping in for book signings and other fun surprises.

Free admission, stop by anytime between 10 am and 6pm on October 11th and 10am and 4pm on October 12th. All proceeds go towards our rescue operations. We aim to provide all children under 12 who attend receive a free book :)

HISTORY

Founded in 2023, Team Kitten is working to create a community where all kittens are considered precious. Our mission is to rescue and rehabilitate at-risk kittens, and prepare them for loving homes. It was founded by a group of women dedicated to improving the lives of cats and kittens in their community. Years of experience in trap-neuter-return (TNR) and colony management enabled us to carefully construct an organization that we truly believe can make a difference in our local community. Each kitten brought into one of our foster homes receives full medical care, and love, before being spayed or neutered. That is one fewer future litter we prevent by addressing the crisis in the beginning of the cycle. While there is no one fix to such a large problem, Team Kitten stands proudly amongst other local organizations in the fight against cat overpopulation.

COMMITMENT

At any one time we have averaged over 100 cats and kittens in our care over the course of 2025. This year alone we have fixed 350 felines and taken in nearly 500. We are honored to have all of those felines in one of nearly 30 active foster homes in the Topeka area as well as near by towns. Each foster home offers a safe haven for vulnerable and often times orphaned kittens. As 2025 continues and we look towards the future, Team Kitten is dedicated to continuing to help as many felines as they can in the coming years.

COLLABORATION

We proudly work with local TNR groups both inside and near Shawnee county. These organizations often times struggle to find placement for kittens discovered during trapping. One less litter is a load off caretakers and trappers for that area. We also take in injured and sick kittens from our local community to alleviate the strain put on local shelters and near by humane society.
