Green City Force Presents: Tour De Farms - Our Annual Bike Ride (and post-ride party)!

We will start at one of our six urban farms, at Forest Houses in the Bronx, visit our Manhattan site at Wagner Houses along the way, and end at one of our graduate’s own composting sites in Williamsburg along the waterfront for a celebration. Attendees will be able to meet our Service Coordinators, Farm Managers, Corps Members and Eco-Hub Fellows who operate each site, as well as alumni of our program!

Non-cyclists are welcome to support by joining the after-party in Brooklyn!

Cylists will receive reusable Swell water bottles, cooling towels and refreshments along the way. Join the after-party for lunch, raffles and more!

Starting Point - Location 1 - Forest Houses Farm:

GCF's Forest Houses Eco-Hub, 730 E 165th St., Morrisania, Bronx

Check-In and Rental Pickup: 8:00 AM (refreshments provided!)

Optional Site Tour: 8:30 AM

Depart: 9:00 AM

Ride to Wagner Houses: approximately 2.8 miles.

Midway Point - Location 2 - Wagner Houses Farm:

GCF's Wagner Houses Eco-Hub, 2395 1st Avenue, East Harlem, Manhattan

9:30 - 10 AM

Depart: 10 AM

Ride to Compost Power site: approximately 8.5 miles.

End Point - Location 3 - Compost Power Site:

Compost Power, 105 River Street, Williamsburg, Brooklyn

12 - 4 PM

Lunch, raffles and post-ride celebration (open to non-cyclists!)

What to Bring if you're cycling with us!

Bicycle that’s ready to ride (encouraged but not required - please specify in your ticket if you would need a bike rental)
Helmet (required)
Sunscreen
Spare tube (in case of flats)
Bicycle lock

Bike and helmet rentals will be available upon registration for pick up at GCF's Forest Houses Farm and drop off in Williamsburg. Please select YES if you need a bike/helmet rental!

This is a casually-paced ride - not a race from farm to farm. We will stick to bicycle lanes and routes wherever possible. We will obey all traffic laws. This is an unsupported ride on open streets. Riders should feel comfortable riding throughout the city and with a group.
