In March 2023, The Friends of Tabor to Platte Rail to Trail, LLC, was awarded about $200,000 by the South Dakota Department of Transportation to conduct a study to determine the feasibility of a plan to create a gravel path from Tabor to Platte. The Friends of the Tabor to Platte Rail to Trail will have more work ahead of them as they are required to raise about $45,000 to match 18.75% of the grant they earned.
