In the past week, TENT has experienced 3 malicious instances of impersonation of our organization.

Two text messages and fraudulent mailers impersonating TENT were sent out across Texas, leading to a surge in hateful messages to our organization’s email inboxes and social media. As a result, State Representative Jeff Leach put in a formal request to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton to investigate our organization.

In response to these fraudulent and malicious attempts to impersonate our organization, TENT has filed an official cease and desist to the text platforms that disseminated the text messages, and is working on the next steps to address the fraudulent physical mailers that were sent.

However, this is only the beginning. Your support is needed to strengthen our organization’s physical and digital security for our staff and community, and legal defense against these malicious attacks.

Donations will allow TENT to continue to consult security specialists, equip our organization and staff with digital and physical security tools, and secure legal representation for cease and desist filings and potential investigations.

Support and security is critical now more than ever so that we may continue to fight for trans Texans.
