Thank you THANK YOU thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for donating to Trystereo’s fundraiser! We are honored and so deeply grateful for your support.

We set our goal to $50,000 because that represents the cost of six months of syringes, pipes, and cookers. Limits set on most grant funding mean that Trystereo can only use our ‘unrestricted funding,’ primarily donations, to purchase the urgently requested healthcare supplies at the center of our operations. 100% of the funds you donated will go to getting our participants the items they need.

Last year, Trystereo distributed 33,000 doses of naloxone and over 600,000 syringes through our drop-ins, hotline and statewide mail partnership. Our role as Louisiana’s largest naloxone distributor and second largest syringe service program remains essential in a sparsely resourced and fraught landscape for service provision. Syringe (and cooker) distribution is illegal in all but four Louisiana municipalities and distribution of pipes for safer smoking is illegal throughout the state. People who use drugs face criminalization, discrimination, and serious barriers to care at the intersections of stigma, poverty, racism, HIV criminalization, healthcare professional shortages and more. When we say “thank you for your donation” we mean “thank you for helping us create a world where our participants get the care and support all people deserve.”
