Help us celebrate 50 years of generosity by supporting the 50th Annual Teeter-Totter Marathon, happening May 2–3, 2026.

For one incredible weekend, volunteers ride a teeter-totter for 16 hours to raise funds for neighbors facing hunger and hardship. It’s a quirky Middleburg Heights tradition — and a powerful act of community care.

Over the past five decades, the Teeter-Totter Marathon has:

Raised over $300,000 for various charities and non-profit causes
Logged an estimated 3,200 miles of teeter-tottering
Brought together generations of riders, collectors, and supporters

Every dollar raised supports Second Mile Outreach, a nonprofit serving Cuyahoga County through:

A food pantry helping families put meals on the table
A thrift shop that supports the pantry and supplies a household goods program supporting veterans and families transitioning out of homelessness

For decades, they’ve been caring for Cleveland-area families — and your support helps that work continue.

How You Can Help

There are three great ways to participate:

A Special 50th Anniversary Celebration

To mark this milestone year, we’re hosting a Teeter-Totter Marathon Alumni Reception & Raffle after the marathon wraps up at noon on Sunday, May 3.

Join us to:

The reception is free, but RSVPs are appreciated.

SECOND MILE OUTREACH

Throughout Northeast Ohio, one in six people (including children) is food insecure – meaning they may not know where their next meal will come from.

"Second Mile Outreach is a non-profit organization providing food assistance, clothing, household goods and furniture for people in crisis and veterans in transition throughout the greater Cleveland community."

What does Second Mile Outreach do?

Provides critical assistance to families in our community for basic needs:
- Operates a food pantry. Membership in the Cleveland Food Bank guarantees high standards.
- Offers furniture, clothing and household goods at an affordable price.
- Collaborates with churches and other organizations who refer people in need.
Works with the VA to help Veterans in transition with household goods.
Provides opportunities for individuals assigned to community service through partnership with the courts.
Offers support and guidance to those needing emergency assistance.
Donates clothing to women's and men's shelters.
Collects, manages, and distributes donations, including bulk item pick-up for a nominal fee.

Making an Impact

In 2025, Second Mile Outreach made a meaningful difference in the community. Our Food Pantry provided over 130,000 meals to ensure families had access to essential nourishment. We proudly served over 3,000 Veterans, offering vital support, including furniture and household goods for 81 veterans transitioning out of homelessness.

We also set a new record, bringing joy to 720 children with Christmas gifts—often their only present.

The need continues to grow. With reductions in government programs, Second Mile Outreach is seeing more families and individuals seeking support than ever before. We're committed to stepping up and making a difference where it matters most.
