A Crisis That Touches Everyone

Substance Use Disorder (SUD) is the foremost public health crisis in the United States, affecting an estimated 46.3 million Americans aged 12 and older. It transcends racial, ethnic, geographic, economic, religious, and educational boundaries, impacting people indiscriminately.

For every person with SUD, approximately 5 to 6 family members are significantly affected by the consequences, meaning there could be around 246 million individuals whose lives are impacted.

A 2019 Gallup Poll found that 46% of U.S. adults have grappled with SUD in their families, leading to divorce, child abuse, higher healthcare costs, increased crime rates, and hundreds of thousands of premature deaths annually. The economic loss due to SUD in the U.S. is estimated to exceed $850 billion annually.

My Recovery Day - serving the recovery community "one day at a time"
My Recovery Day officially began in 2016 as a Northeast Ohio 501c3 nonprofit whose mission is to develop and provide support and resources for individuals with substance use disorder - giving them the help and hope they need for sustainable recovery. As an organization whose board, staff, and volunteers are either in recovery or have a deep understanding of recovery, we get that it is more than just stopping the drinking and/or drug use. My Recovery Day Programs

Our programs provide real tangible benefits to individuals early in their recovery to improve the quality-of-life outcomes and minimize the risk of relapse.

The Recovery Bank
Provides a free resource for individuals to get smaller appliances, kitchenware, general household, bathroom items, and more. It is available to individuals that have gone through treatment or sober living housing and need some basics to start again.

The “J.O.B.S.” (Just Online Being Sober) Program is a peer-supported economic empowerment program that provides technology training focused on generating income online in a safe and sober environment. Individuals in this program are called "Online Retail Associates" which can be listed on their resumes when searching for other employment. It is usually easier to find a job when you already have one.

The "My Family Recovers" Education and Group Support Program
An innovative Family Education and Group Support Program seeking to equip families with the tools, resources, and peer support necessary to better understand addiction, cope with its impact, and create a nurturing environment that supports their loved ones’ recovery journey.

The "My Recovery Day Jam" at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
The My Recovery Day Jam is more than just a concert—it's a powerful outreach event and a testament to the transformative power of music and the possibility of a fulfilling life in recovery. Recovery organizations around the world can pick up the free live stream and host watch parties as artists share their recovery story and perform. The event is held at the iconic Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, OH.
