The Tuskegee Airmen changed history.

As the first African American military aviators in the United States Armed Forces, they broke racial barriers, demonstrated unmatched excellence, and helped pave the way for the desegregation of the military and the advancement of civil rights in America.

Their courage deserves more than remembrance.

It deserves permanence.

The Tuskegee Airmen Mural Project, led by The HOYCE Center, and in collaboration with 718 Real Estate, The Village of Rantoul, The Carter Education & Community Foundation, Inc, Experience CU, 40 North Champaign County Arts Council, Champaign County African American Heritage Trail, and local partners including DREAAM and Oesling Freelancing, is a public art initiative that will create a large-scale mural honoring the legacy, sacrifice, and impact of the Tuskegee Airmen.

This mural will serve as:

• A permanent cultural landmark
• A public tribute to Black excellence and military service
• An educational resource for generations to come
• A symbol of community pride and historical preservation

Our Immediate Goal: $30,000 by March 31

We are launching a focused fundraising campaign to raise $30,000 by the end of March as the first phase of our larger $80,000 mural project.
These funds will support:

Professional mural design and artist commissioning
Site preparation and installation materials
Historical consultation and research integration
Community unveiling and public engagement efforts
Initial preservation planning

Reaching this $30,000 milestone allows us to move from vision to execution.
