Our campaign mission

Did you know that one unsterilized cat can produce up to 100 kin in its lifetime? Help us reach our goal of spaying and neutering 100 cats which will prevent 10,000 more from joining the unowned cat population.

It all started with 19 tails... but there's always one more.

When our co-founders Genevieve Husaruk and Laura Schermeister found out about a rapidly reproducing cat colony in Mendocino County, California, the two cat-loving women knew they could step in to help. A few unaltered felines had reproduced beyond the caretaking abilities of the property's humans. What we thought was a small colony of just eight cats turned out to be more than double that! After four separate trips to the colony with traps in hand, we managed to capture 19 cats in all. Together, we organized spay and neuter appointments, designed a logo and website, and helped to find homes for them all.

A few weeks later, we received a call from a neighboring business to come pick up another cat, making this colony 20 felines total! Because there's always one more...
