At Theatre for Young Professionals (TYP), we believe in the transformative power of performance. Our mission is not just to entertain, but to inspire and nurture the next generation of artists. Through challenging performance opportunities and individualized training, we empower young performers to explore their potential and express their unique voices.

TYP is rooted in the rich tradition of the ensemble "troupe," where each member contributes to and grows from the collective artistry of the group. Our doors are open to all—no prerequisites, no barriers to entry—only opportunities. Whether a seasoned performer or stepping onto the stage for the first time, every young artist receives the support, guidance, and training they need to shine.

As we launch our Company Member program for our most dedicated performers, your support is vital. With each sponsorship, you help us sustain this nurturing environment, enabling us to offer more scholarships, enhance our training programs, and bring enriching productions to life. More than just financial support, your sponsorship signals a belief in the value of arts education and its ability to foster creativity, confidence, and collaboration among young people.

Company Member Sponsorships allow Company Members to put 50% of the TYP Sponsorship they collect toward their company member dues, production fees, classes, private lessons, tickets and concessions. This program empowers our Company Members to take ownership of their theater experience while fostering a strong sense of community and collaboration.

Sponsorships are not tax deductible however if you would like to make a tax deductible donation to TYP, you can make a donation to the San Diego Media Arts Center who is our fiscal sponsor and is a 501c3 organization.

Tax deductible donations can be made via check payable to Media Arts Center San Diego with a note the donation is for Theater for Young Professionals. Media Arts Center San Diego will retain 8% as our 501c3 Fiscal Sponsor.

TYP 2025 Sponsorship

Sponsorship contributions are split evenly between direct sponsorship of your active Company Member and the general theater maintenance and enhancements when directed to a company member.
