This class will examine the historical and contemporary impact of Christian Zionism, including its connection to imperialism, settler-colonialism, and white Christian Nationalism. From the perspective of their different lineages, Rabbi Wise and Reverend Naomi Washington Leapheart will explore the specific consequences of Christian Zionism, and the harm that plays out when any religion marries itself to empire. Together, the class will imagine a world free from empire, and ask how we can build collective power to resist religious nationalism in all its forms.
