We’re a small, passionate team working to meet big needs in our community. Our community fridge, located at the Del Valle Library – Elroy location, is a mutual aid project that helps our neighbors access fresh, free food—24/7, no questions asked.

We live in a food desert, where access to healthy groceries is limited and unreliable. This fridge helps fill the gap by offering produce, dairy, and shelf-stable items, stocked by neighbors for neighbors.

It’s a simple but powerful model: Take what you need. Leave what you can.

This fridge is open to anyone, no questions asked.

Why It Matters:

Del Valle is a growing community with very limited access to affordable, healthy food. Many of our residents live miles away from the nearest grocery store. For families without reliable public transportation, the community fridge is a lifeline—available 24/7, no forms, no fees.

We're not a large nonprofit. We’re a grassroots effort led by neighbors—parents, elders, students—who care deeply about our community.
