At Umu Igbo Unite – Los Angeles (UIU-LA), our mission is to connect, empower, and uplift Igbo professionals, entrepreneurs, and leaders in the diaspora, while also giving back to our communities both here and in Nigeria.

This year, we are thrilled to introduce our most exhilarating fundraising challenge to date—Rep Your State! This amiable competition will feature teams representing each of the prominent Igbo states in Nigeria. United by a common goal, our mission is to uplift our community and invest in its future.

Why We’re Raising Funds

Your contributions to this campaign will directly support two key initiatives:

1️⃣ Advancing the Mission of UIU-LA
Our organization is built on the foundation of cultural preservation, professional growth, and community service. With your support, we can expand our programming, host impactful events, and create more opportunities for Igbo professionals and entrepreneurs in Los Angeles.

2️⃣ Feeding the Future Initiative

Annually, UIU-LA extends its support to children in Nigeria through our Feeding the Future initiative, aimed at providing nutritious meals, essential school supplies, and comprehensive mentorship programs for disadvantaged youth. This year, our mission takes us to an Igbo state (TBA ), where we will concentrate our efforts on collaborating with local partners/organizations (TBA) to maximize our impact and foster meaningful change.

Funds raised through this campaign will be allocated as follows:
🔹 75% will support UIU-LA's mission and ongoing chapter operations such as Igbo class, GBM venue space, etc.
🔹 25% will go directly toward the Feeding the Future initiative.

How the Rep Your State Challenge Works

Every contribution made to this campaign will be linked to a specific Igbo state—Anambra, Imo, Enugu, Abia, Delta, Ebonyi, or any location where Igbo people are present worldwide, including our allies. By the conclusion of the fundraiser, the state that accumulates the highest funds will be awarded the prestigious title of Ultimate Igbo State Champion!

Bragging rights aside, your support means more children will receive meals, more programs will be funded, and more Igbo professionals in the diaspora will benefit from the resources UIU-LA provides.
