On Friday, November 17th, 2023, the University of Michigan police arrested 40 students protesting against UM's role in supporting Israel's genocide in Gaza. For nearly a month, students have been asking to meet with President Ono to demand divestment from companies profiting off of crimes against Palestinians. Rather than listen to students, the university administration unleashed dozens of police on a peaceful protest.

Given the mounting repression of pro-Palestinian demonstrations across the country, it is vital that these Michigan students have access to legal counsel should the university attempt to press charges. Your contribution to this legal fund can help ensure that voices speaking out for justice on campus are not intimidated into silence.

Any funds not used in defense of campus activists will be donated to the Palestine Children's Relief Fund.
