Mission At Unscripted Project, our mission is to support young people as they develop critical life skills like speaking confidently, collaborating effectively, and growing from mistakes - all through improvisational theater based education. We've worked with nearly 2,200 students to date. You can learn more in our annual report here.

We've successfully run our core program in classrooms for three years - and are looking to build out additional supports both for teachers through additional professional development opportunities and for students through continuation opportunities in the afterschool space. As our organization grows, we're focused on addressing the needs we're seeing in schools for this type of work - and also internally building the infrastructure required to sustain continued growth.

Historically, this fundraiser has brought in 40% of our operating budget for the subsequent year - when we say we could not do this without you, we mean it. Please consider supporting us at this critical juncture for our organization and for our students.

About Unscripted:

The Unscripted Project is an award-winning, BIPOC-led Philadelphia-based 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to equipping students with critical social-emotional and interpersonal skills through the transformative medium of improvisational theater. We do this primarily through our core program, a free 10-week series of in-school applied improv workshops in public middle and high schools. Since our inception in 2020, we have worked with over 1800 students. Through our workshops, students develop key life skills like speaking confidently, collaborating effectively, and growing from mistakes in a low-stakes and laughter-filled environment.
