Every day, women across New York City are navigating financial hardship and housing instability, often quietly and alone. The Release Program exists to change that.

We are a New York based 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing direct micro-grants and trauma-informed emotional wellness support to women ages 18 and older. Our work sits at the intersection of financial relief and emotional healing, because we believe real stability requires both.

Our programs are grounded in the WELL Method, a framework built on four pillars: Name, Normalize, Nurture, and Nourish. Through our Women’s W.E.L.L. Fund, we disburse emergency micro-grants for needs like food, childcare, and therapy. Through WELL Resources and WELL Circles, we connect women to mental health support, workshops, and community gatherings where they don’t have to carry it all alone.

This year, we were honored to support 40 women across New York through micro-grants, community-based programming, and wellness support. In 2027, we’re raising $100,000 to provide financial and emotional support to 150 women.

Here’s what your gift makes possible:

$100 goes toward a woman’s stipend, joining with other gifts to meet a real need
$250 covers a week of groceries or a utility bill for one woman
$500 provides one full stipend covering groceries, a utility bill, and support for her well-being
$2,500 supports five women with full $500 stipends

Your support also helps us grow our partnerships, expand our wellness programming, and begin building financial literacy support for the women we serve.

Every gift, of any size, helps a woman move from crisis toward stability. Thank you for giving, gathering, and growing together with us.
