Brooklyn Org has offered The Billie Holiday Theatre a $10,000 matching grant through its Brooklyn Backs Brooklyn initiative. To receive it, we have to raise $10,000 from individual donors by September 30. Your gift counts twice.

For 54 years, The Billie has been a home for Black storytelling in Central Brooklyn — serving more than 25,000 people a year through theatre, dance, film, music, visual art, and youth arts education. Most of it free or low-cost. That is a choice the theatre makes every season, and it is one this community funds.

Here is the math. If 10,000 people give $1, we make it. If 1,000 people give $10, we make it. If 100 people give $100, we make it. Pick your part.

Your support sustains artist fees, free community programming, youth arts education, and a 54-year-old cultural institution at 1368 Fulton Street. Every dollar moves us forward.
