The Next Chapter of WellPartners

Our story began in 1959, when the Children's Dental Clinic first opened at the South Carolina State Fairgrounds to provide dental care for children who otherwise had nowhere to turn. More than a decade ago, United Way of the Midlands stepped in to preserve that legacy and expand access to care, helping the organization evolve into what is now WellPartners.

Today, WellPartners provides high-quality dental and vision care to uninsured and underinsured children and adults throughout the Midlands, ensuring cost is never a barrier to receiving essential care. Each year, our dedicated team serves more than 5,000 patients, delivering compassionate care with dignity and respect regardless of a person's ability to pay.

On July 1, 2026, WellPartners began an exciting new chapter as an independent nonprofit organization. While our governance has evolved, our mission remains the same: to provide, with dignity and respect, oral healthcare, eye care, and education to uninsured and underinsured individuals throughout our community.
