As a Black theatre educator and arts leader in Columbus, I have seen firsthand what happens when young people encounter stories that look like them, sound like them, and honor where they come from.

Too often, Black stories are treated as special events instead of essential parts of our cultural landscape.

August Wilson devoted his life to ensuring that our stories would never be forgotten.

Through this production, we have the opportunity to continue that work.

We are raising funds to bring another August Wilson play to the stage, providing opportunities for local artists while creating a space for our community to gather, reflect, laugh, heal, and celebrate.
