Blind But Not Broken was founded to address a real gap in centralized, faith and community based organizations dedicated to supporting blind and visually impaired individuals.

We believe blindness should never limit a person's dignity, independence, leadership, or ability to fully participate in community life. Nationally, only 44% of working-age blind and visually impaired individuals are employed, compared to 79% of people without disabilities and 90% report accessibility barriers just applying for jobs online.

We're closing that gap through orientation and mobility training, professional development, ministry services, technology and Braille instruction, and advocacy that removes real barriers including helping formerly incarcerated individuals access guide dogs and mobility support that's too often out of reach.
