Blue Sky Basin Community Association is raising funds to support the No Rezone Greystone effort and oppose the proposed rezoning of 222 Greystone Road.

This rezoning would open the door to a high-intensity commercial-style use in an area that has long been planned, zoned, and understood as rural residential. We believe this proposal is inconsistent with the character of the surrounding neighborhood and would create impacts that extend well beyond the boundaries of one property.

Our opposition is based on several key concerns:

• The proposed use is not compatible with the low-density, rural residential character of Blue Sky Basin.

• Greystone Road and nearby mountain roads are narrow, winding, and not designed for increased institutional, commercial, visitor, employee, vendor, and service traffic.

• Additional traffic raises serious public safety concerns, including emergency access, wildfire evacuation, winter driving hazards, and conflicts with pedestrians, cyclists, wildlife, and local residents.

• The proposed rezoning risks setting a precedent for future high-intensity uses in rural residential areas.

• Water, wastewater, drainage, noise, lighting, parking, and environmental impacts must be carefully evaluated before any major land-use change is approved.

• The surrounding community should not bear the burden of a rezoning that primarily benefits a private applicant while permanently changing the character and expectations of the neighborhood.

Funds raised through this campaign will support public outreach, website and communication costs, mailings, meeting materials, professional review of planning and zoning issues, and advocacy before local decision-makers.

Blue Sky Basin Community Association exists to promote responsible land use, public safety, environmental stewardship, community engagement, and the preservation of rural mountain character in Blue Sky Basin and surrounding communities.
