Complete the Legacy: Open the Rose of Sharon Ministries Community Chapel! Rural Areas need Love Too…help us drive positive lasting change.

The Vision Since 2014
For over a decade, Rose of Sharon Ministries of Hazlehurst Inc has been working to turn a beautiful, family-led vision into a reality. Thanks to the continuous prayers and support of our community, the East Wing of our facility on Hallspur Road is officially operational. Now, we are entering the final, most crucial phase: completing the interior build-out of the West Wing to open our doors as a functioning Community Chapel and Resource Hub for Jeff Davis county and surrounding counties.

A Legacy Born in Hazlehurst
Rev. James Eschol Hill was a man whose hands were truly blessed by God. He was a veteran, a beloved history educator at Twin City, Monroe, and Dougherty High Schools, a master barber, a master horticulturist, and a master builder. He pastored several local churches, including serving as the interim pastor of Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church right here in Hazlehurst.

Before his passing, Rev. Hill and his sisters, the late Wilhelmina Hill Parrish and Amenzerolee Hill Thomas, shared a profound vision as the founding members of this dream. Mrs Parrish purchased land on Hallspur Road in Jeff Davis County and with her late sister together formed the board of directors, erected structures with a single goal: to build a permanent Community Chapel and Resource Hub where local families could gather, connect, and be uplifted. While they did not live to see their shared dream fully realized, we are determined to cross the finish line for them.

The $310,000 Milestone: Where Your Donation Goes
The exterior shell of the West Wing stands beautifully complete. However, to transform this structure into a safe, comfortable, code-compliant facility, we have set a final building budget of $310,000.

Because we value absolute financial transparency, every dollar raised will be deposited directly into our official Edward Jones bank account, held exclusively for Rose of Sharon Ministries of Hazlehurst Inc. The property is owned and titled to the nonprofit and none of the funds raised will be used for staff salaries. Your funds will strictly pay for:

Commercial HVAC & Ventilation Systems: $105,000 (For year-round climate control and safety)
Complete Electrical Build-Out & Tech Wiring: $75,000 (To power our social service offices, audio systems, and lighting)
Sanctuary & Community Interior Furnishings: $65,000 (For retreat seating, counseling tables, and office setups)
Landscaping, Drainage, & Outdoor Retreat Grounds: $45,000 (To build the reflection gardens, honoring Rev. Hill's master horticulture legacy)
Permitting, Safety Inspections, & Contingency: $20,000

A Sacred Space for Everyone
Once open, this completed chapel will serve as a vital community resource for Hazlehurst and the region, hosting restorative retreats for spiritual renewal, neighborhood meetings, and essential social services like counseling and the annual back to school drive.

Your Donation is 100% Tax-Deductible!
Rose of Sharon Ministries of Hazlehurst Inc is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Your contribution is fully tax-deductible. Givebutter will automatically issue an official tax receipt to your email, or you can mail a direct check to our Edward Jones account if your business utilizes a corporate matching program.

All major donors contributing to this project will be permanently engraved on our Donor Recognition Wall inside the completed chapel. Furthermore, all $10,000+ donors are eligible to take part in the official ribbon-cutting ceremony and will receive an invitation to our complimentary white-cloth thank-you banquet.

Thank you for helping us turn this empty shell into a beacon of light, healing, and service for everyone in Hazlehurst and surrounding counties!
