About the LCU Fund for Women's Education: The mission of the LCU Fund for Women’s Education is to clear the path for under-resourced women to complete college by helping them pay their rent. We do this in partnership with selected colleges or universities, public or private, that provide undergraduate, graduate and / or professional programs within the five boroughs of New York City. LCU Funds are used solely to help pay the rent of women scholars pursuing careers in the arts, health services, social work, education, public administration and religious leadership.
Since launching our housing grants program in 2001, we have cleared the path for nearly 3,000 women to complete college by helping them pay their rent. Many of these graduates have been serving on the front lines of the COVID crisis as health care practitioners. Others are working as conduits for social change and transformation: They are social workers, non-profit professionals, educators, and religious leaders. And some are creating art that reflects the world as it is – and represents the possibilities of what it can be.
Investing in women who will change the world!
The LCU Fund for Women’s Education is a private, non-profit, non-operating foundation.
