Sylvie Farrington makes handcrafted bags. She sells them at shows, face-to-face with customers who want to understand the work behind what they're buying. After Artisan Joy featured her story, she started bringing the article to her booth. It changed how customers saw her — and how she saw herself.

That's what one story can do.

We've never charged a maker to be featured, and we never will. Until now, most of our editing and writing has run on donated time. To keep telling the true stories of creative entrepreneurs who started from nothing, we need to pay the people who do the work. Our goal is $16,000, enough to keep Artisan Joy publishing for a full year.

That covers our publishing platform, digital magazine, domain and a monthly stipend for our editor -- every tool we need to put a maker's story in front of readers.

Artisan Joy helps creative entrepreneurs find customers, credibility and confidence. Here's what they say about being featured:

"Your publication has absolutely enriched my business, bringing in new clientele and highlighting my labor of love." - E.M. Corsa, Artist

"Being featured in Artisan Joy connected me to one of my new super fans and friends. After reading my story, she reached out to me on Insta and bought several products from my online store." - Sharon Glassman, Founder of Smile Songs

"Being featured in your magazine was a definite self-esteem boost to me as an emerging artist. It strengthens my credibility when pitching workshops to schools and organizations." - Paige St-Pierre, Fiber Artist

Will you help us tell the next story?

Artisan Joy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so your gift is fully tax-deductible. It goes straight into the journalism that makers deserve and rarely get.
