Your Story Doesn’t End Here (YSDEH) is a mission-driven platform dedicated to raising awareness about mental health challenges within the military and veteran communities. Since launching in November 2021, we’ve been advocating for better mental health resources and providing a platform for those struggling with mental health issues, particularly within the active duty community. Now, we are seeking to take the next step in expanding our reach and impact.

We are seeking to raise $75,000 through crowdfunding to fund the start-up costs for transitioning YSDEH into a nonprofit organization. These funds will help us formalize our operations, expand our programming, and continue to provide critical mental health resources to those who need them most.

Our Mission & Vision

Mission:
YSDEH is committed to being a voice for those struggling with mental health in the military community. Our mission is to provide education, raise awareness, and offer practical solutions to improve the mental well-being of service members and veterans. Through storytelling, collaboration, and advocacy, we aim to create a community where mental health is openly discussed and prioritized.

Vision for Expansion:
As we grow, YSDEH aims to extend our reach to underserved areas, particularly rural and remote locations, where military service members often lack access to essential mental health resources. We also seek to partner with and support existing military mental health organizations, amplifying their efforts to create a larger network of care and resources. Our vision is to build a more connected, resilient military community where service members and veterans receive the support they deserve.

What We’ve Accomplished So Far

YSDEH has already made significant strides toward our mission:

Podcast Platform (Launched Nov 2021): Our podcast continues to grow, offering a space for service members, veterans, and mental health professionals to share stories, discuss mental health issues, and offer solutions.
Successful Mental Health Awareness Event (2023): In 2023, we hosted a powerful event featuring the film Stranger at Home and keynote speakers Vic Martin and Maurice Wilson. The event raised over $20,000 and helped raise awareness about military suicide prevention and reintegration strategies.
Collaborations with Leading Military Mental Health Platforms: We’ve partnered with other powerhouse military mental health advocates and platform leaders like The Millennial Veteran and OH Rural Salute to expand our message and reach more people in need. Our most recent collaboration was at the 2024 Military Influencers Conference.

The Need for Start-Up Funds

To scale our efforts and take YSDEH to the next level, we are seeking $75,000 to cover the essential start-up costs required to establish a nonprofit. These funds will be allocated to:

Nonprofit Incorporation & Legal Fees: Covering the cost of incorporating as a nonprofit organization and filing for 501(c)(3) status.
Operations & Staffing: Hiring a small team to handle day-to-day operations, fundraising, program development, and outreach. This will ensure we can continue our advocacy work and support our growing community.
Marketing & Outreach: Expanding our visibility through digital marketing, content creation, and partnerships with other mental health platforms to engage more service members, veterans, and supporters.
Program Development: Creating and distributing mental health resources, including toolkits, guides, and online programs, especially for underserved regions with limited access to mental health care.
Event Planning & Execution: Organizing future events, including workshops, awareness campaigns, and large-scale gatherings to educate the public and connect individuals with mental health resources.
Supporting Existing Military Mental Health Organizations: Collaborating with other organizations that focus on military mental health, to amplify their impact and ensure veterans and service members have access to a broader network of support.
