At Vashti, faith isn’t just a belief—it’s a way of healing, growing, and restoring hope.

For many of the youth who come to our Thomasville campus, life has been marked by loss and uncertainty. They often arrive with nothing but the clothes on their backs, carrying the weight of trauma, neglect, or family dysfunction. But when they step onto our campus, something begins to change—they’re met with love, structure, and a safe space to rediscover who they are.

That healing takes root through our Spiritual Care Program, led by Reverend Donald Mathis, who joined Vashti in April 2025. With more than three decades of ministry experience, Reverend Mathis brings warmth, compassion, and a deep belief that every child deserves to know they are loved, valued, and created with purpose.

Each week, Reverend Mathis walks alongside our youth—leading devotionals, prayer walks, worship gatherings, and community service projects. Through his compassionate presence, our young people are finding connection, confidence, and a renewed sense of belonging.
