Join us behind the scenes for Viewfinder, a free photography walk & roll designed for people with disabilities. As a volunteer, you'll help create a welcoming, accessible experience as participants explore downtown Grand Rapids, experiment with photography, and capture images that will be professionally printed and featured at a public reception on July 23.

Volunteers play a vital role in making this event possible — from supporting participants during the walk & roll to assisting with logistics on the day of the event. No photography experience is required. Just a heart for community and a willingness to serve.

This event happens rain or shine. Exact downtown Grand Rapids locations will be shared with registered volunteers closer to the date.

This event may be photographed and/or recorded for promotional use. If you prefer not to appear in event media, please let an on-site photographer or videographer know.

Volunteer Check-In: Please plan to arrive early. Details will be sent to registered volunteers ahead of the event.

Public Restrooms available near Rosa Park Circle

Our Walk and Roll Starting Location is conveniently located on the DASH Stops.

The DASH (Downtown Area Shuttle) offers visitors a seamless way to explore downtown. With late hours, weekend rides, and two primary routes (DASH West and DASH North), your journey becomes even more comfortable. Plus, pickups are scheduled every eight minutes during its operational hours, and it’s entirely free – no ticket or pass required! Check out the DASH routes here: DASH Routes.

Alternatively, consider using The Rapid, our city’s broad bus transit system. It connects downtown to locations like East Grand Rapids, Grandville, Kentwood, Wyoming, Walker, and even the Gerald R. Ford International Airport.

Parking
Covered parking is available in a ramp located off Front St., just south of the Museum’s main entrance.
