Story is a tool for meaning-making ourselves and bridge-building with one another in order to be known and understood. It is both personal and communal, helping us hold who we are and who we are becoming. The Village It Takes (TVIT) grew out of a simple truth: none of us thrive alone. To create opportunities for healing, play, and learning for others, it will first take a village to make this endeavor sustainable. Launching this next chapter is a joy, and we’re excited to invite the community into this dream and set of needs.

TVIT centers people of all ages, each with their own embarrassing moments, life-changing “yeses,” heartbreaking losses, and plot twists with relationships, health, and career plans. Our work stands at the intersection of learning science, community care, and the creative arts. Through custom storybooks, workshops, sensory-friendly design, and advocacy coaching, TVIT offers tools to navigate life’s transitions with dignity and creativity. This is a new kind of profession—one that responds both to lived realities of health, neurodivergence, and struggle, and to the gaps in existing services and structures. TVIT is both a creative act of provision and a communal act of care.

This fundraiser will cover the real start-up costs of TVIT’s next chapter. These include essential tools and materials (a laptop, printer, and supplies); core business infrastructure (CRM, LLC fees, website, Zoom); the creation of a dedicated home office/"Story Room"; and pay for the many months of behind-the-scenes foundational labor invested by the founder and our incredible design team. Support provides not only sustainability for the organization, but also expansion for the communities it serves.

Weaving a wider village takes resources and care. Every contribution helps bring stories to life and creates space for people of all ages to thrive. Together, we can write this next chapter.
