Why do villagers in Ukraine need help?

You may be surprised to learn that a large part of the Ukrainian population still lives in small villages a few thousand people in size. Many small villages in southern Ukraine have been damaged by the flood resulting from the hydroelectric dam destructions, and others in northern Ukraine have been destroyed by shelling during initial invasion. Villagers need help to restore their houses and schools in summer, so they have shelter during cold winter and so kids can go to school in fall. Construction materials are available in larger towns, but many low-income villagers struggle with getting it purchased and delivered to their homes. How and who will we help Ukrainian villagers?

All the raised funds will be used to purchase and deliver construction materials to the flooded and destroyed villages. These supplies include wood for carpentry, sheet metal for the roofs, glass for windows, as well as concrete and other materials for the installation. The repair work will be done our dedicated local team of volunteers operating in Northern and Southern Ukraine. One of the biggest efforts is to repair roof and windows of schools and other public buildings that suffered from shelling or flooding. New phase of the project: flooded villages in Southern Ukraine

This summer and fall, we will be helping villagers in Southern Ukraine restore their homes and schools damaged by heavy flooding that resulted from the destruction of the dam at Nova Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant in June 2023. At places, the water was so high that small houses were completely flooded, and the water levels reached 2nd or 3rd floors of the schools. Previous phase of this project: destroyed villages in northers Ukraine

Last summer and fall, we helped Ukrainian villagers in Northern part of the country rebuild their houses after shelling by russian invasion in spring 2022. Many villages in the northern part of Ukraine have been liberated after the first few months of the war, but many houses and schools were destroyed. Before the cold Ukrainian winter came, we helped with materials repair their houses destroyed or damaged by the invaders' shelling.
