When Dr. Astrid Heger founded VIP Community Mental Health Center (VIP), she did so under one motto, a very simple question we ask each and every client who enters our campus - "How can we help you?" And, for over 40-years, we've been asking that question and fulfilling the needs of our clients. It's the foundation of who we are, what we do, and why we are committed to healing.

The past year in Los Angeles County has been challenging for our clients, to say the least. After the devastating wildfires earlier this year, our clients have had to deal with the reduction of social services and a lockdown that saw a dramatic rise in food needs across the board. As always, we are ramping up our efforts to ensure everyone we serve is given the tools they need to heal and thrive.

VIP's services to our community:

Mental health services including: a traditional outpatient program; transitional support for foster youth; our school-based program; our birth to five program; outpatient care services (OCS); case management services; and occupational therapy services;
Medical services including our 24/7 sexual assault clinic;
The Alexis Project, focused on the LGBTQ+ population and providing comprehensive, affirming care;
Our FASD Clinic, one of the first of its kind, dedicated to the identification, diagnosis, and treatment of FASD;
The Brine, transitional housing for foster youth;
VIP's mentoring and tutoring program that has helped thousands of kids reach their full potential

All funds collected from our end of year giving campaign will support our H.E.A.R.T. fund with which provides families: food assistance, rental assistance, utility assistance, mentoring and tutoring assistance, grocery and gas cards, clothing, hygiene products, and much more.

VIP is a 501(c)3 non-profit and all donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed under law.
