Every 1st Saturday of the month from 11am - 1pm*, Rancho Compasión opens its doors to visitors aged 12 and older for a fun-filled and information-packed Visitor Day tour.

Want to learn about rescued farmed animals? Want to meet them in person? If so, then a Rancho Compasión Visitor Day is for you! Nestled in the bucolic hills of west Marin, Rancho Compasión provides a forever home to cows, geese, pigs, turkeys, goats, sheep, donkeys, ducks, and chickens, and offers humane education programs to inspire compassionate living, like our Friends and Food Youth Program. We’d like nothing more than having you out to visit our residents and tell you all about them at an upcoming scheduled Visitor Day.

Visitor Day tours are information-packed and educational; the sanctuary is not a petting zoo, and we don't guarantee interactions with each of the residents. You'll get a glimpse into what life is like for an animal at sanctuary and how we provide unique care for each individual, while hearing about their rescue stories, friendships, and unique personalities.

Some things to note before you book...

Our tours include walking and standing on varied terrain, in varied weather, and interacting with animals (goats with horns, roosters that peck, etc). The tours ask you to be alert and in good physical standing. Please come at your own risk and consider a private tour instead if you would like specific accessibility accommodations. If you are elderly, you may want to consider a private tour.
Our visitor days are for individuals, couples, and groups of 3 people or fewer, aged 12 and above. If you would like to bring 4 or more people, or want to bring a young person, please book a private tour so we can accommodate your group.
Due to limited staff/volunteer availability at this time, we are not allowing guests to bring picnics.
