The Voices of the Plains: Great Plains Nature Center Speaker Series brings together experts, storytellers, and conservationists to share insights about Wichita’s and the region’s natural history, wildlife, and environmental stewardship.

Presented across Wichita and Sedgwick County, this series expands the Great Plains Nature Center’s reach by engaging adults from diverse communities. Two presentations are planned this year and four in 2027, fostering lifelong learning, community connection, and appreciation for the Great Plains.

Speaker: Ray Troll
- Ray Troll is an acclaimed artist, author, and science communicator whose distinctive fish- and fossil-inspired artwork has earned an international following. Based in Ketchikan, Alaska, he has exhibited in museums worldwide and co-authored more than a dozen books, including Spawn Till You Die: The Fin Art of Ray Troll (2024), Cruisin' the Fossil Freeway, and Sharkabet. Ray also co-hosts the Paleo Nerds podcast and performs with his band, the Ratfish Wranglers. Learn more at www.trollart.com.
