Based on a collection of whimsical poems by Phillip Van Wagoner, Could You Hug A Cactus? is a musical revue that follows a group of kids as they come together to create a show that’s bursting with poems and creativity. One by one, they each share their imaginative creations, until a nervous performer panics and refuses to contribute a poem. Can the cast help him shed self-doubt and ignite a creative spark?

Parking: Ample onsite parking is available in the main lot and along the street. Additional parking is available up the hill by entering the main lot and turning left. Kindly avoid spots marked as RESERVED for our VIP ticket winners. Enter through the main building entrance shared with the YMCA.

Disability & Sensory Guide:

Disability Access: Disabled parking is available on site in the main lot and there is a ramp or stairs for accessing the building. A drop-off area is available for guests who cannot navigate stairs or an inclined ramp. Email amanda@bridgeschoolcoop.org to arrange and a staff member will arrange access.

Once in the building, the room is flat and there are disability accessible restrooms.

Sensory Information: The play is performed in a small church hall with auditorium seating with a center aisle. If you need specific seating accommodations, please let us know.

The performance will include darkening stage and hall lights twice, once at the beginning and once at the end of the performance. Musical numbers are upbeat and may be loud for those with auditory sensitivities. We suggest sitting towards the front where speakers are not as loud and can arrange this upon request.

There are silly imaginative stories told by children. The main story arc depicts emotional distress and self-doubt for one character. There are no villains or scariness in the play.
