Spanish artist and muralist Marina Capdevila is bringing her internationally acclaimed Viejas Glorias (Glorious Old Women) project to the historic Princess Martha in St. Petersburg as part of a five-city global documentary series, joining host cities in China, Spain, Peru, and Ghana in a transformative exploration of how women are perceived as they age.

The Viejas Glorias project challenges deeply ingrained cultural narratives about aging by celebrating the wisdom, resilience, humor, and beauty that come with lived experience. Through intimate interviews, large-scale public murals, and cinematic storytelling, Capdevila and her Emmy Award-winning documentary team are creating a powerful counter-narrative that positions elderly women not as invisible or diminished, but as vessels of strength, cultural memory, and irreplaceable knowledge.

How You Can Help

The project requires $30,000 by December 1, 2025, to cover artist materials, labor, and the professional film crew's travel and production costs.
